ACADEMIC MAP (Effective Summer 2024 and after)
*Please Note: Face-to-face/in-person instruction of this program is available ONLY at the main campus in Tallahassee, FL. This program is NOT available via Online/Distance Learning.*
This map is a term-by-term sample course schedule. The milestones listed to the right of each term are designed to keep you on course to graduate in four years. The Sample Schedule serves as a general guideline to help you build a full schedule each term. The General Education and Elective courses must be selected to satisfy all area and diversity requirements unless your program meets these requirements with major courses. Milestones are courses and special requirements necessary for timely progress to complete a major. Missing milestones will result in one of two types of map registration stops. The first level (Degree Map Off-track) is placed following grade posting if the student has missed a milestone (course and/or GPA) for the first time in the major. If a student is in non-compliance with milestones for two (2) consecutive semesters (excluding summers), a Major Change Required stop is placed on the student's registration.
The Statistics major works best if you start in the highest mathematics courses for which you have prerequisites. It is also beneficial for you to take STA2122 prior to the start of Term 5. Because collateral requirements for the major also satisfy the minor requirements in Mathematics, you may choose additional electives. Students anticipating graduate study in statistics are encouraged to take STA4322 and additional mathematics courses such as MGF 3301 (Introduction to Advanced Mathematics).

Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies
The program in Women’s Studies and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies examine the accomplishments and perspectives of women in history, culture, and contemporary society. The programs establish gender and sexuality as fundamental categories of social and cultural analysis. Drawing on disciplines across the university, the programs offer interdisciplinary perspectives from which to study the diversity of human experience. The courses foster critical analysis of the social meaning of gender and gender expression and examine sexual identities, discourses, and institutions as they intersect with class, race, ethnicity, nationality, and transnational movements, drawing on the full range of approaches adopted within Feminist and Queer scholarship.
The Women's Studies Program offers an undergraduate major within the Interdisciplinary Bachelors Degree in Humanities and an interdisciplinary minor at the undergraduate, MA, and Ph.D. levels. Students wishing to major or minor in Women's Studies must register with the Women's Studies Office and develop their program of study in consultation with the Program Director. Directed individual study in Women's Studies and the Women's Studies internships must be arranged with the Program Director. Students should contact the Women's Studies Office each term for information concerning additional special topics courses and seminars that are not among the regular course offerings. March 2nd 2018
