Cyber Criminology (Criminology)

ACADEMIC MAP (Effective Summer 2026 and after)

*Please Note: Face-to-face/in-person instruction of this program is available ONLY at the main campus in Tallahassee, FL. This program is NOT available via Online/Distance Learning.*

This map is a term-by-term sample course schedule. The milestones listed to the right of each term are designed to keep you on course to graduate in four years. The Sample Schedule serves as a general guideline to help you build a full schedule each term. The General Education and Elective courses must be selected to satisfy all area and multicultural requirements unless your program meets these requirements with major courses. Milestones are courses and special requirements necessary for timely progress to complete a major. Missing milestones will result in one of two types of map registration stops. The first level (Degree Map Off-track) is placed following grade posting if the student has missed a milestone (course and/or GPA) for the first time in the major. If a student is in non-compliance with milestones for two (2) consecutive semesters (excluding summers), a Major Change Required stop is placed on the student's registration.

The interdisciplinary undergraduate degree in Cyber Criminology will teach students how to use computers to facilitate the study of crime and how crimes are accomplished through the use of computers. Students must earn a “C” or better in CCJ2020, CCJ3011, CCJ4700 , and CCJ4746 and a C minus or better in all other courses that count toward the major. Students with more than four grades below “C minus“ in Cyber Criminology major coursework and/or perquisites will not be permitted to continue in the major. An overall 2.00 major GPA is required.

Note: Major code determines graduation requirements and the college within which the student graduates.

Emergency Management

ACADEMIC MAP (Effective Fall 2026 and after)

Students cannot begin enrolling in this major until Fall 2026. Also, please note: FSU is not yet authorized to enroll F-1 international students in the Bachelor's degree in either Emergency Management or Intelligence Studies. International students who need an F-1 visa, should NOT apply to these majors at this time.

*Please Note: Face-to-face/in-person instruction of this program will be available ONLY at the main campus in Tallahassee, FL.                However, it will be available via Online/Distance Learning to all FSU students; each starting in Fall 2026.*

This map is a term-by-term sample course schedule. The milestones listed to the right of each term are designed to keep you on course to graduate in four years. The Sample Schedule serves as a general guideline to help you build a full schedule each term. The General Education and Elective courses must be selected to satisfy all area and diversity requirements unless your program meets these requirements with major courses.

To complete a major in Emergency Management, students must complete the 4 hours of core courses, 12 hours of Required Courses, 12 hours of Advanced Courses (which are all specific to the student’s major), and 12 hours of interdisciplinary Elective Courses from a predetermined list, for a total of 40 credit hours.

Engineering (Biomedical)

ACADEMIC MAP (Effective Summer 2025 and after)

*Please Note: Face-to-face/in-person instruction of this program is available ONLY at the main campus in Tallahassee, FL. This program is NOT available via Online/Distance Learning.*

This map is a term-by-term sample course schedule. Three majors are offered as part of the BS degree in Biomedical Engineering: Cell & Bioprocess Engineering, Biomaterials & Biopolymers Engineering, and Image & Signal Processing Engineering. This sample schedule is for Cell and Bioprocess Engineering majors. If a student is in non-compliance with milestones for two (2) consecutive semesters (excluding summers), a Major Change Required stop is placed on the student's registration.

All new, incoming engineering students are placed into pre-engineering major until they have satisfied the College of Engineering prerequisite course requirements listed below. After these requirements are satisfied, students may change their major from pre- engineering to Biomedical Engineering.

An undergraduate Biomedical Engineering major requires 128 semester credit hours for graduation. A student who has decided to major in Biomedical Engineering must successfully complete the following four prerequisite courses before the major can be declared: a grade of "C minus" or better in EGN-1004L First Year Engineering Laboratory; and a grade of "C minus" or better in all instances of Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and General Chemistry I with lab. A student is allowed a single repeat for only one of these courses.

Biomedical Engineering majors must earn a grade of "C" or better in all engineering courses which apply toward the degree.

Note: EGN1004L is only offered at FSU; therefore, transfer students should take this course during the first semester enrolled at FSU.
