Requirements

Dietetics is a "Specialized Admissions" major. All students who are first admitted to FSU are admitted as an NFA (not formally admitted) Dietetics major. Students must undergo an additional selection process to possibly continue in the program while taking DIE 3005 in a spring term. This occurs most often in the spring term of a student's sophomore or second year with FSU. DIE 3005 is also offered in the summer. Students who are not formally admitted will be guided towards another major option at FSU. Transfer students must apply to FSU for a spring or summer start to be able to enroll in DIE 3005 in their first term at FSU.

Students must meet the following criteria for formal admission consideration:
• Be an admitted or a current student of Florida State University,
• Have a 2.75 overall undergraduate GPA (may appeal if lower GPA with exceptional circumstances; contact department),
• Have a grade of C minus or better in ALL of the required admission prerequisites. A final grade of 'B' or better in HUN 1201 is highly recommended,
• Complete DIE 3005 (1) Intro to Dietetics with a grade of “satisfactory (S)”.

*Contact annescollege-studentservices@fsu.edu for an overview of the formal admission requirements.*

DIE 3005 is offered in spring and summer semesters. Transfer students will have the opportunity to take this course in the spring or summer at FSU before admission decisions are made. Admission decisions will be made in August.

Other criteria that will be considered for admission to this major:

Indication of an aptitude in the sciences, with preferably a final grade of 'B' or better in the following:

• CHM 1045, 1045L General Chemistry I, Lab
• CHM 1046, 1046L General Chemistry II, Lab
• CHM 2210 Organic Chemistry I and CHM 2211 Organic Chemistry II (or other approved organic chemistry courses)
• Commitment to become a registered dietitian.
• Experience in or an understanding of the field of dietetics.
